| I went with 8.6:1 as I don't mind using race gas to run the higher boost. The higher the CR the higher the octane requirements but the better off boost and low and mid speed drivability. The current trend is to use smaller turbos on and mid compression engine to get a smoother power curve. However we both have larger turbos that can run 28-34PSI and after 116 octane fuels become a big issue. These guys are talking about smaller turbos that probably will never see 20+ psi on a constant basis.
